This is Volume Two and it can not be read as a standalone. You must start with Volume One. This one picks up where the first one left off. Shay is dealing with a tragic loss and she's not doing well. Jacob was kind of a mystery in the last book and didn't interact much with Shay. In this book he's the one to come to the rescue. Shay doesn't want him around. No matter what she does Jacob still stays. We find out a lot about Jacob is this one. I though he was a little creepy in the first one but in this one I grew to love him.
I loved reading about Jacob and Shay. Jacob what just what Shay needed. There is a major cliffhanger. It's an OMG did I just read that cliffhanger right. I can't wait to read more.
